Welcome
Welcome to Strabane Academy
It was Aristotle who said that, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act, but a habit.”
Within these pages we have tried to capture something of the spirit of school life and convey the sense of pride we feel in being part of this community. As you view our website, look out for the many opportunities that we provide which help students develop positive habits for life.
It may be how we extend learning beyond the classroom; through sports, Languages, Duke of Edinburgh, opportunities to travel abroad, practical life skills such as wood working and the culinary arts, work-based learning, leadership opportunities and the school council all of these are enriching on many levels.

We’re incredibly proud of our Year 10 S.A.V.E pupils for organising a fantastic Restart a Heart Day to raise funds for a community defibrillator. 💓 The school was buzzing with energy, especially at lunchtime with fun activities like throw the wellie, penalty shoot-out, and more! Congratulations to Alice C, Yr9, for winning the 'name the mascot' competition with Bart the Heart!
👏 A special shout-out to Year 10 for also taking part in lifesaving CPR training — an essential skill that could one day save a life.
🚶♂️ And let’s not forget our brilliant Year 8 pupils, who showed great spirit and determination during their sponsored walk to support the cause.
Together, you’ve all made a real difference in our community. We couldn’t be prouder! 💪
