It is with great pride that I welcome you to our school website. I am truly honoured to serve as the new Principal of Strabane Academy.

At Strabane Academy we offer a broad and balanced curriculum designed to nurture the unique strengths and talents of each individual pupil. Beyond the classroom, our students benefit from the wide range of enriching opportunities - from sports and music to educational visits, Scripture Union, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, to name just a few.

Photos from Strabane Academy's post Our Year 12s had a fantastic day at the Minds Youth Wellbeing Event in the Melvin Sports Complex today 🌟. Pupils enjoyed a wide range of activities including coach-led physical sessions, drumming workshops, therapies and much more.
We’ve had brilliant feedback from the organisers and it was wonderful to hear how our pupils were such fantastic ambassadors for the school. We’re very proud of each and every one of them! 👏💙

Last week, 8S have been aspiring scientists! They completed their Bunsen Burner training and carried out flame tests, observing the different colours produced when various metals were burned. Keep up the great work 8S! ✨

Multi-Cultural Food, Music & Entertainment Night on Saturday 20th September in St. Patrick’s Hall, Strabane.
🎉 What to Expect:
A vibrant evening celebrating the rich cultural diversity if our community, with delicious food from around the world, live music, and entertainment representing different cultures and traditions.
🕖 Doors Open: 6.45pm
🍽️ Food Served: 7.00pm
📍 Venue: St Patrick’s Hall, Strabane
This event is free and open to everyone – so bring friends, family, and neighbours! It’s a chance to connect, celebrate, and experience the many cultures that make our community so special.

On Thursday afternoon, we gathered for our Annual Prize Giving Ceremony, a truly special event celebrating the achievements of our incredible pupils. It was wonderful to welcome so many parents, guardians, grandparents, and family members who joined us in recognising the hard work and dedication of our young people.
👏 A huge well done to our Head Girl, Lauren, and Head Boy, Jonathan, for delivering a professional and heartfelt speech, a proud moment of leadership and inspiration.
📘 Congratulations to Mr Johnston on delivering his first Principal’s Report, a confident and thoughtful reflection on a successful year.
🎶 Thank you to Mrs Ryan and Mrs McGuffin for the beautiful music performed by our orchestra and choir, adding a magical touch to the afternoon.
🎤 We were honoured to welcome Dr A. Walls as our special guest speaker. His fascinating insight into the world of an orthopaedic surgeon reminded us how the knowledge gained in the classroom continues to shape lives and careers.
🌟 And most importantly, congratulations to all our prize winners! Your hard work, determination, and commitment to excellence truly deserve to be celebrated.
