Welcome to Strabane Academy

It was Aristotle who said that, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act, but a habit.”

Within these pages we have tried to capture something of the spirit of school life and convey the sense of pride we feel in being part of this community. As you view our website, look out for the many opportunities that we provide which help students develop positive habits for life.

It may be how we extend learning beyond the classroom; through sports, Languages, Duke of Edinburgh, opportunities to travel abroad, practical life skills such as wood working and the culinary arts, work-based learning, leadership opportunities and the school council all of these are enriching on many levels.

What's Happening

NYC Trip 2025
We have posted a Google Form in our Google Classroom to gather information regarding dietary requirements for the trip. Please complete this by Friday 29th August so this information can be passed on to tour company.
Reminder that final payments are due in school by Monday 1st September.
Information regarding applying for your ESTA will issued next week when we return to school.
A pre-departure meeting will be held in the coming weeks, final date and time TBC asap in the new term. During this you will be issued an information pack which will include EA medical forms and itinerary etc.

The Strabane Academy Rugby season started with a bang today as we welcomed Neil Doak (Ireland U20 Coach), Nathan Doak (Ulster Rugby) and Cormac Izuchukwu (Ulster Rugby) to launch our new season.
Today’s session was part of an elite pre-season camp organised in partnership with Strabane Rugby Club.
The boys benefitted from expert coaching in all areas of the game, with a strong focus on technical skills.
Training sessions will continue to run throughout the school year. New recruits would be welcomed and it would be great to see as many out and involved as possible.

We look forward to welcoming Yr8, 11 and 13 pupils alongside parents/guardians this week. Pupils should wear full uniform to induction days.
Reminder to our Yr14 Prefects also, Prefect Training is on Thursday 28th August 9am-3.30pm. Please wear uniform also.

A huge congratulations to Harvey, Yr11, who has represented in the Blitz fixtures against Leinster, Munster, and Connacht.
Harvey started as a substitute in the opening game, but through hard work and determination, he earned a starting role against both Leinster and Munster, delivering an outstanding performance. 🌟👏

🤩 We can’t wait to celebrate with our GCSE pupils! 🎉
Results Day is Thursday 21st August 2025. Remember, your results do not define who you are. Success comes in many different ways for different people, and we’re proud of every single one of you. 💙
Year 12: Results can be collected in our Alexander Hall between 8.45-10.30am.
Year 11: Results can be collected in our Alexander Hall between 9.30-10.30am.
Parents/guardians are warmly invited to join us for tea and coffee as we share in this special day together. ☕
A note for Year 13 applicants: Interviews will take place on Friday 22nd August. Your allocated time will be included in your results pack.
